Learning LNPlay: Perfecting Documentation

Join us as we review and perfect the documentation on lnplay.guide. And announcing a new website.

Over the past few days, the we have honed the LNPlay hosting, installation, and deployment process. Repeatedly iterating through the workflow ensured functionality and user-friendliness. We are confident in the updated guide and its ability to empower users to successfully execute the steps.

Test Plan

The main document we focused on the last few days has been the test plan. The goal of the document is to provide comprehensive instructions to an LNPlay System Owner (i.e., the user that deploys the software). This allows System Owners to independently verify and validate the function and performance of the system.

Some of our objectives for the test plan includes:

  1. Ensure the test plan had adequate coverage in terms of phone OS and browsers.
  2. Ensure the test cases cover MOST of the functional aspects of running a LARP, especially scanning QR codes from Clams Remote using mobile devices.
  3. Ensure the test plan utilizes at LEAST three nodes such that at least one node facilitates transaction routing (so Forwards can be shown/verified).

lnwidget.guide

In support of Top Builder Round 1 Milestone (ii), we started a new website called lnwidget.guide. The site is extremely rough right now, but we like to build in public.

The objective of lnwidget.guide is to provide a simple and concise landing page for LNPlay hackathon participants wanting to develop against Core Lighting's REST or websocket interface, both of which are exposed in LNPlay instances.

More to say about this website as we approach Bitcoin++ in Buenos Aires, where farscapian will be hosting a workshop on LNPlay. The first 30 minutes of the presentation is expected to be a technical/architectural overview of LNPlay. Then room will participate in an LNPlay simulation for the remainder of the workshop.
